Today we are going to talk about 3 free online tools that can make your life so much easier and save you a ton of time.
There are a lot of websites out there that offer you tools that you can use to automate your work. They make your marketing and social media so much easier, and they are wonderful because they offer a free version.
STARTING ON A SMALL BUDGET
This really helps people like you and I in home-based or online businesses when we are just starting. We don’t have a lot of money typically and they work with us because of this.
The goal of these websites is to help us get started with the free version. Once we get going, we continue using them and paying them for advanced features that make our lives even easier.
All businesses are in it to make money, and as our businesses grow, these websites will grow with us.
A couple of the thresholds you will run into is based on size or time.
The amount of data you can use on the free version might be limited, like on some mail automation websites.
They allow you only so many subscribers on the free version. When you cross that threshold, they will start charging you.
Another restriction may be based on time, because you may be allotted to post things out for so long. Then you have to pay to be able to schedule things further out.
Let’s take a look at a few of them now.
The first of the 3 free online tools we are going to talk about is a website called later.com. This is a website that I use to schedule my posts on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
You can also use it to put posts on Pinterest.
On this website, you can create posts for these different social media platforms and schedule them for any day and time in the future.
It is easy to create your posts just as if you were on the platform itself, it works exactly the same.
The way you use it after you sign up is to pick the pictures you want to use to post. Download them to Later through the media upload.
Once you download them, you then put in the content and hashtags you want to use in the post. It works just as if you were creating them on Instagram or Facebook.
Once you have done that, you simply click on create post.
After you have clicked on create post, you can schedule the date and time to publish the post.
I really like this website because it’s so versatile.
My posts on Instagram consist of content, scheduled blogs and podcasts, and infographics.
I use Later with all of them.
For instance, my blogs and podcasts come out on a schedule each week. They are posted either on Buzzsprout.com that is my podcast host or my WordPress for my blog at 4:00 AM.
Then Later will create my Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter post at 5:00 AM most days.
The great thing about this is that I don’t get out of bed until 5:30 AM and my work is already automatically started for the day.
Check out Later at later.com and get started with yours today.
The second of the 3 free online tools I want to talk to talk about is for those of you that are looking to build an email list.
The website we are going to talk about is called Skrapp at skrapp.io.
This website is a great tool that you can use if you are looking to find email addresses for businesses or individuals on LinkedIn.
It works via a Google Chrome extension that you add onto your Google Chrome.
You must also have a LinkedIn account to be able to use Skrapp
When using Skrapp, you can search on LinkedIn in whatever way you choose to bring up a list of people.
This might be through companies, industries, locations, or even groups.
It makes your life easier. Rather than pulling up individual profiles to jot down the email address, Skrapp scans all the profiles.
It will get the email addresses for you and save them to your Skrapp account.
This saves a bunch of time that you would otherwise spend going to each profile.
Start by going to Skrapp.io and set up an account, then add the extension to Google Chrome.
Once you are done with setting it up, simply login to your LinkedIn account. You can search for who you are looking for like you normally would by using the search bar on LinkedIn.
As I said, you can target companies, industries, locations, or even groups.
You can even search for industries within a targeted area if you need to niche down to your target market.
Skrapp adds an icon in the upper left corner and you click on it to put it to work.
Then you go back to the website after you’re done and you will find your list there.
You can keep using the same list every time you search, or you can create a new list. This makes it easy to organize each time you go searching.
I like Skrapp because it is easy to use and simple to get started.
It retrieves information from LinkedIn that is public information. It pulls only email addresses that people put there, so you aren’t doing any back-door stuff to find email addresses.
Once you are done collecting the information and go back to the website, Skrapp has another cool feature. It will check to see if the email addresses you collect are valid.
This way we can connect with real people in our targeted niche. This saves a bunch of time using this automation.
The last of the 3 free online tools I want to talk about is a website called Mailerlite.
If you have ever used email automation, a website like MailChimp, this is a similar service.
What I like about Mailerlite is that I can use it in a number of different ways.
First, it is an easy to use automation tool for your emails. I set up a drip campaign for attracting cold leads to my landing pages.
Secondly, after the person signs up for my free course, I use automation to drip further emails to entice people to buy my services and advanced courses.
Finally, it also has a plugin that I put on my WordPress site that allows me to funnel people. They fill out forms on the site the goes right to my Mailerlite account.
All this automates my emails that I send so I do not have to manually send them out. This goes to people that request information, or those that I add to the subscriber list using things like Skrapp.
Mailerlite is a great email automation tool to use if you are just starting out. You get a lot of features that you can use out of the gate.
The free plan allows up to 1,000 subscribers and 12,000 emails a month which is enough for someone only starting.
The pricing plans start out as little as $10 a month, and increases as your business increases.
The pricing is incremental so as you scale up, the pricing scales up with you.
To use Mailerlite, you simply create an account, and you can go to work.
If you want to simply add subscribers manually, it is simple to do by filling in their information.
Or you can mass download either csv or excel files if you already have a list you are starting with.
If you have a website or landing page Mailerlite that will communicate directly from your website to the platform. As I said, it works through WordPress and you simply install a plugin.
If you have never set up email automation before, they also have tutorials and information on how to do so.
There are also many videos on YouTube on how to do things on Mailerlite.
I really like Mailerlite because it is so easy to use, works with my website, and starts absolutely free.
When I started, I had no idea how to set up signup forms on my website. I didn’t know how to do automated emails.
After a few YouTube videos and through the training from Mailerlite, I was up and running in no time.
Get over there and check it out if you need this type of service.
These 3 free online tools I have used or are using right now. They can make your life so much easier and automate much of what you do.
When starting a home-based or online business, we are typically starting by ourselves.
Take advantage of how some websites work with us when we are just starting.
Pay it forward when you get to a point that you can.
Starting your business can take a lot of your time, these things will save a lot of time for you.
